Jason Maassen studied Computer Science at the VU University Amsterdam, where he graduated in 1998. The focus of his PhD research (1998-2003) was on developing object oriented programming models for parallel and distributed programming.

Víctor Méndez Muñoz

Dr. Víctor Méndez Muñoz (M) has a main background in big data management and distributed systems. He participated in scientific international projects like AGATA and LHCb, collaborating with several more. Currently, he works in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) as a visiting professor and researcher. He leads the dirac.egi.eu European portal to ease the extreme scale computing and complex data management of international scientific communities like ENMR (Bioinformatics) or EISCAT (Physics), among others. He holds the program chair in INSTICC conferences in the fields of cloud computing, big data, complexity and the internet of things, also editorial collaboration in some journals of high impact.

Emmanuel Mondon

Emmanuel Mondon - 40 years old, based in Munich (Germany) - founded AdviceGEO in February 2016, a "boutique"  that provides specialized services for the Geospatial & Earth Observation (GEO) market, helping this particular segment to tackle the digital (r)evolution.

Chris Morris

Chris Morris is a data analyst and software developer, mostly working on life sciences projects. He works in the Hartree Centre at Daresbury Laboratory UK, part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council.  He is also project manager for the West-Life Horizon 2020 grant.

Günter Mühlberger

Günter Mühlberger works as Senior Project Manager of the Digitisation and Digital Preservation group at the Department for German Language and Literature at the University of Innsbruck. He received his Ph.D. for a dissertation on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832).

Dr Abraham Nieva de la Hidalga (M) (BSc, MEd, MSc, PhD) is a full time research associate at the School of Computer Science and Informatics, Cardiff University. His work on the ENVRIplus project (Horizon 2020, Current) is concerned with the further development the ENVRI Reference Model, and on producing teaching and training materials to foster the adoption of the model. He has previously collaborated on these projects: e-sicence portal for bioengineering (UPPUE, Mexico, CONACYT, 2015 – 12 months), BioVeL (Cardiff University, FP7, 2012-2014, 2 years), Commius (The University of Manchester, FP7, 2010 – 6 months), SOA4ALL (The University of Manchester, FP7, 2010 – 3 months). His main research interest in the areas of:  software engineering, e-business, e-science, development patterns, and software product lines.
